Education programs and projects provide opportunities for workplace, career and post-secondary learning for youth. Servicing all of Sonoma County, Matrix Parent Network & Resource Center empowers parents of children with diverse abilities to be strong advocates for their children by teaching them what special education and community services are available and how to gain access to these resources. The 2017-18 grant that Matrix received from the Sonoma County Vintners Foundation is helping Matrix develop a web-based decision tree and transition resource directory that will guide families and youth with disabilities through the decision making process.

The #SonomaCountyWineAuction Health & Human Service beneficiary programs support the most fundamental needs around behavioral health, housing, homelessness and hunger. Buckelew Programs’ Sonoma County Independent Living Program helps clients live independently in the community, individually or in shared households. Most of the individuals rely on Social Security or state disability. Without financial assistance and additional support from Buckelew, many would be homeless or in restrictive environments such as psychiatric hospitals or board and care facilities. Your generosity helps some of Sonoma County’s most vulnerable residents have food to eat and a warm and safe place to call home.

As we ramp up to the big day for the 2018 #SonomaCountyWineAuction this Saturday, we'd like to take the time and highlight some of our 2017-2018 beneficiaries. Fund the Future ensures that underserved students throughout Sonoma County have the literacy skills they need to succeed in school and life. AVANCE empowers families with a family-engagement approach by combining early childhood development and parenting education. Home is the most important classroom. Parents are the child's first and most important teachers. AVANCE's long-term evaluation data shows that children of AVANCE parents do better in school and graduate from high school at a higher rate.
