Wine Is Us Talking Points
- Enjoying wine in moderation helps create a platform that encourages conversation, builds relationships and fosters healthy social engagement.
- The enjoyment of wine and its positive social, engaging and connective impacts have been part of our societal human existence for centuries. It continues to be important to cultures around the world.
- We believe that the enjoyment of wine in moderation contributes to an overall positive and connective lifestyle and assists in creating community. We know that our wine community will continue to be an impactful economic driver and charitable community contributor for decades to come.
- Enjoying wine in moderation helps foster a more engaging, connective and meaningful lifestyle. In these busy days, it’s refreshing and needed now more than ever to spend quality time together, catching up with family and friends over a nice glass of wine paired with comforting food. Wine is Us!
- There are many studies available that address the relationship between alcohol and health, many of these do not distinguish between wine and other alcoholic beverages, nor consider how they are consumed (with food…). In addition, some studies provide confusing and even conflicting information. For those who have questions about enjoying wine in moderation, we encourage them to consult with their medical provider to help make choices that are best for them.
- With 99% of vineyards in Sonoma County certified as sustainable, the wine industry is at the forefront of generating positive change for our planet. Our county’s vineyards are 85% family-owned, meaning that the wine industry makes decisions that value its people. More than 430 Sonoma County nonprofits have received over $43 million as a direct result of charitable wine-related fundraising just in Sonoma County alone, making this industry an important cornerstone of our community. Consuming wine in moderation helps to promote all of these positive endeavors.
